Advancing Health Through Diagnostic Research & Innovation
Through Genova Global Health’s Research & Innovation focus, team members pursue hands-on experiences connecting biomedical research with patient care. R&D internship at Werfen provided opportunity to explore immunoassays, autoimmune diagnostics, laboratory workflows, diagnostic platforms, and scientific literature research. This strengthened understanding of how rigorous research, innovative diagnostic technologies, and early disease detection can contribute to better clinical decision-making and improved patient outcomes.
AI-Powered Breath Biomarkers for Early Glioblastoma Detection
As part of the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair, a Genova Global Health researcher developed an AI-based breath analysis model using volatile organic compound (VOC) biomarkers to explore glioblastoma detection. The project combined biomedical research, cancer diagnostics, and artificial intelligence to investigate a potentially more accessible approach to disease detection. The research earned 3rd Honors at the State level, highlighting Genova’s focus on student-led innovation that applies emerging technologies to meaningful healthcare challenges.
